Trauma dump is just that. To be honest with you friend, I have always looked at paintings like
this and thought, “how silly does one have to be to “create” something so… basic.” Turns out,
they’ve got to be just the right amount of silly, skilled, careFREE but not careless and a touch
traumatized.
There were a number of things going on in my personal life around the time this piece was
created and thankfully, not only was I able to capture my trauma but the stress my child was
under as well. I was able to free both she and I through this work and in return create a visually
pleasing mess.
The message I hope you receive from this my friend is, no matter how hard things may get or
how overwhelmed and overstimulated you may feel, you can always find the beauty and peace
in the chaos that is life. We are spiritual beings having a human experience and the sooner we
wrap our minds around that, the sooner we can get on with experiencing the beauty in the
madness.
