Built from art.
Built from hustle.
Built in Los Angeles.
Da Mouse Trap Graphics was built from art, opportunity, street-level creativity, hip-hop, and the kind of Los Angeles stories that stay with you.
It started at Custom World.
Da Mouse Trap Graphics was created in 2019 after a part-time job at the legendary Custom World inside the Compton Fashion Center, better known to a lot of us as the Compton swap meet.
That place carries a lot of memories. Some are good, some are hard, and a lot of them belong to friends who grew up around the same energy.
It was a place where hustle, fashion, music, art, neighborhood pride, survival, and opportunity were all moving at the same time.
Why “Da Mouse Trap”?
The name Da Mouse Trap comes directly from hip-hop and the language of hustle that surrounded us.
In hip-hop and street slang, a “trap” became another word for a place where somebody hustled, worked, built something, or found a way to make something happen.
Our tools were different.
We had a computer, a keyboard, a mouse, artwork, ideas, and eventually printing equipment.
So the concept became simple: we trap with a mouse and a keyboard.
Instead of slanging something from a corner, we were slanging designs, logos, artwork, shirts, prints, and ideas. The mouse became the tool. The computer became the workspace. The artwork became the product.
Da Mouse Trap became our version of the hustle.
We trap with a mouse and a keyboard. Designs, prints, shirts, ideas. That is the hustle.
The people shaped the vision.
Being around Custom World opened the door to moments that felt bigger than a regular job.
Meeting and crossing paths with people like DJ Quik, Eazy-E’s family, Volume 10, 2Mex, and other creative voices helped shape the way we saw design, music, culture, business, and opportunity.
Those experiences reinforced something that still drives Da Mouse Trap today: artwork is never just artwork.
A design can carry a neighborhood, a record, a business, a family, a memory, a movement, or somebody’s first real chance at being seen.
Graphic design opened doors.
Some of us stayed close to the hood. Some of us were searching for a reason to make it out.
For me, graphic design became the escape.
It opened doors to rooms, conversations, projects, and places I otherwise may never have reached.
Once design got me into those spaces, I kept looking around for something else I could learn.
Another craft. Another process. Another way to turn an idea on a screen into something people could actually hold.
Screen printing became the favorite.
Screen printing became my favorite form of printing because it still holds on to its artistic nature.
It combines artwork with labor, chemistry, pressure, timing, registration, ink, and light.
It is not just a button you press.
You prepare the artwork. You create the film. You coat and expose the screen. You line everything up. You pull the ink. You watch the image hit the surface.
Then something that existed digitally a few minutes earlier suddenly exists in the physical world.
That process still feels like art.
We came a long way. The mission got clearer.
Years later, Da Mouse Trap Graphics is still here because of everybody who placed an order, trusted us with their artwork, visited our humble workspace, recommended us to somebody else, or simply spent time around the creative people who helped shape this business.
Now we get to help people the way I needed help when I was younger and hungry for an opportunity.
Creators with an idea. Brands trying to launch. Artists preparing for a release. Businesses that need to be seen. People who simply want their vision treated with respect.
That became the real mission.
Every order deserves to be treated like art.
Whether it is a shirt, DTF transfer, sticker, banner, sign, logo, album cover, website, or full merchandise idea, we approach the project like the art piece it deserves to become.
We care about the design. We care about the file. We care about the material. We care about the production method. We care about the finish.
Most importantly, we care about the feeling somebody gets when an idea they carried around in their head finally becomes real.
We will help shape the print.
Da Mouse Trap Graphics serves brands, artists, businesses, events, and creators across Greater Los Angeles.
The fastest way to begin is to send us the project details so we can review the artwork, quantity, size, timeline, materials, and production requirements together.
